This route traverses the desolate west Kokonor Plateau of the far-east Tibet region, to reach the fabled Kokonor one of inner Asia’s largest lakes, before travelling through the Kumbum, Rebkong and Lhabrang which are at the cultural heart of Amdo. The Rebkong style of painting is particularly renowned.

Itinerary:

• Day 1: Fly from Kathmandu to Lhasa, 95 KM from airport to city, it takes 2 hours drive.
• Day 2-3: Sightseeing in Lhasa: visit Potala palace, Jokang Temple, barkor Market, Sera and Drepung Monastery.
• Day 4: Drive to Nakchu 320 Km, it takes 6 hours drive and overnight at Guest house.
• Day 5: Drive to Amdo. Overnight at Guest House.
• Day 6: Drive to Totohakha. Overnight at Guest house.
• Day 7: Drive to Glumud. Overnight at Hotel
• Day 8: Drive to Xinging. Overnight at hotel
• Day 9: Drive to Kokonor
• Day 10: Kokonor drive to Zeling. Overnight at Hotel
• Day 11: Zeling drive to Kubum Monastery. Overnight at Zeling Guest house.
• Day 12: Zeling drive to Rebkong Monastery. Overnight at Guest house.
• Day 13: Drive to Lhabrang. Overnight at Guest house.
• Day 14: Sightseeing at Lhabrang monastery.
• Day 15: Drive to Lenzho. Overnight at Hotel
• Day 16: Fly to your next destination. End of the trip
