Tansen is an ancient hilltown where it is influenced by Newari migrants from KTM valleys and to be discovered by the tourists. It is situated at southern slope of Mahabharat range. Tansen Palpa offers an oppurtunity to experience genuine Nepalese culture like Thamel and Pokhara lakeside.
The breathtaking views of Himalayan range from Dhaulagiri in the west to Ganesh Himal in the east can be allows and observed from Shreenagar.
Tansen is district headquarter of Palpa district out of 75districts in Nepal. The population of Tansen Palpa is approximately 13,000 in the core areas and called as Palpalis.
Above sea level the town experiences a pleasant climate throughout the year at an elevation of 1350m. The maximum temperature of Tansen is hardly exceeds 31c even in pre-monsoon and the minimum temperature can follow below 10degree C. About 1500mm is annual precipitation and 90% falls in monsoon season.

Language:
The main language in Tansen is Nepali and in the core area Newari Community is partly using their own language whereas Magar people in the surrounding villages.

Religion:
The main religion is Hinduism as followed by Buddhism. As partly the population of Muslim and Christain community has developed itself.

Economy:
For north/south trade Tansen waaas important commercial center for trade and it is the main bazaar for the surrounding districts of Tibet/India. Small business and industries, handicraft, trade, public service are the main occupation of presents inhabitants. And agriculture is still of high importance in this surrounding villages.

Tansen Town:
The collection of red brick houses houses and the largest for flung Newar trading posts scattered across the hills has made the Tansen town  prosperous looking.Tansen area originally belongs to the Magar community through the Newar community forms one of the  major communities in this place.

Tundikhel:
Tundikhel is the best starting point to discover the fascinating destination of the town which is the large plateu in the southeast part of the town. The plateu is made by the former king of Palpa when they needed a drilling and parade ground.

Amar Ganj Temple:
The Amar Ganj Temple is built in a pagoda style. The rest house of the temple has been converted into a school. There is an old small temple of Bhairab on the premises of the school. The mark of Bhairab is worshipped here which is snatched by Mukunda Sen, King of Palpa from Kathmandu valley.

Amar Narayan Temple:
Amar Narayan Temple is one of the largest temple of Tansen. Under the reign of Amar Singh Thapa the whole complex temple including all temples, ponds and park was built. The remarkable huge is called “The great wall of Palpa”where this can be taken from west path of Tundikhel.

Sital pati:
 Sital Pati is the main popular square in Tansen which is near at Ason Tole.  The Sital Pati was built under the order of Khadga Shamsher governor of Palpa from 1891-1902. The south corner of the square leads to Baggi Dhoka the main gate to the Tansen Durbar. Baggi Dhoka is the gate where the chariots of religious festivals  have to pas through and it leads to the palace grounds. The right route of Baggi Dhoka leads to the Bhagwati Temple that was built in 1815 by Col Ujir Singh Thapa to commemorate the victory.

Shreenagar Hill:
Shreenagar hill is 1525mhigh from the town center. One can enjoy at shreenagar hill by taking breath with the panoromic view of Himalayan running from Dhaulagiri in the west to Ganesh Himal and also with peaceful forest pine plantation and decidious forest with a lot of beautiful rhododendron flower. There is a statue of Buddha which takes half an hour to reach.

Gharbandha-Kumal Gau:
On the way to Pokhara from Tansen there is a village of Ghorbanda which is the best place to see the pottery making in Nepal. Traditional water pitchers, pots and “Handa” are the articles produced here.

Ranighat:
In the remenberance of Khadka Shamsher’s wife Tej Kumari, Ranighat palace was built on the banks of river Kali Gandaki which takes about 2hours from Tansen.

Itinerary 
Day 1-Pick up fro Airport and drop at Hotel.
Day 2- Drive to Lumbini by bus (9 Hours)
Day 3- Visit around the Lumbini then afternoon drive to Palpa.
Day 4- Palpa  Activities.
Day 5- Drive to Pokhara.(6 hours)
Day 6- Pokhara Sightseeing.
Day 7- Drive to Kathmandu by bus (7 hours)
Day 8- Drop to Airport.
